As part of TExTOUR project's legacy, we produced a document discussing the establishment of Public Private People Partnerships, a model that could help not only during the project timeline but more importantly as part of a long-term vision for successful Cultural Tourism Development Strategies.

At the end of June, two innovative pilot projects were completed in Narva: a captivating light and sound installation in the Joala factory building at Kreenholm and a virtual tour of the Kreenholm district. These actions are part of the international TExTOUR project, aimed at developing cultural tourism in little-known regions of Europe and beyond.

Tourism can be a resource in many fields, offering economic and social opportunities. With the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, it was necessary to adapt and find new ways to face the situation. The TExTOUR project, which co-creates development strategies for sustainable cultural tourism, has demonstrated this ability to adapt in the pilot of the Rivne region.

Direct involvement of the local community is fundamental for an adequate sustainable tourism strategy. The Textour project has developed a methodology for the effective engagement of all stakeholders, essential for implementing a proper tourism promotion plan.

Places that have been part of history now come alive through a tour that allows us to rediscover their significance over time, continuing to give importance to these locations. They become incubators of their history, ready to continue playing a role and writing new chapters, thus avoiding abandonment.

Quasi-abandoned villages come back to life and become success stories, easily accessible from wherever you are. This is the story of the village of Fikardou, one of the 8 pilots of the European project TExTOUR, an EU-funded initiative aimed at promoting sustainable tourism development in remote areas.
