TExTOUR’s roadmap to Cultural Tourism Development

Published on 05 Sep 2024

As part of TExTOUR project's legacy, we produced a document discussing the establishment of Public Private People Partnerships, a model that could help not only during the project timeline but more importantly as part of a long-term vision for successful Cultural Tourism Development Strategies.

No man is an island. In our Roadmap for Cultural Tourism Development we explore the possibilities of Public Private People Partnerships (PPPP) to fuel your cultural tourism development strategies.

The PPPP model is based on the concept of networked governance, which involves public and private actors and citizens. In projects like TExTOUR, in which the main objective is to valorise local heritage and promote sustainable tourism development in remote and deprived areas, it is important to help build identity, sense of belonging, social cohesion, pride and integration. For this to happen, you need to have local inhabitants on board, engaging them in as many actions and decisions as possible.

There is why we produced a document that is a roadmap to PPPP establishment, based on the experience of our local pilot sites that became true Cultural Tourism Labs. The document is free to download on our website: TExTOUR Roadmap for Cultural Tourism Development.
