The UNESCO Chair Digital Cultural Heritage Lab at Cyprus University of Technology, in the context of the EU-funded TExTOUR project, will hold a second webinar on the latest advancements in digital cultural heritage and tourism.

These sessions will show how to use digitised cultural resources to promote tourism, increase awareness about sustainability, and involve communities in the management and economic development of their local areas.

TExTOUR: a journey across sustainable cultural tourism in Europe and beyond

TExTOUR is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020, from January 2021 to September 2024. It sees the participation of 18 partners, coordinated by Fundación Santa María la Real, from 13 countries, covering all the sections of the social innovation helix (knowledge, business, society, government, and entrepreneurs).

TExTOUR shares its achievements and resources for the future of sustainable tourism

TExTOUR is an EU-funded project that aims to co-design pioneering and sustainable strategies for cultural tourism, intending to improve disadvantaged areas in Europe and beyond. Through the experience gained in its eight pilot sites, the project has developed tangible results, recommendations and methodologies to increase the benefits of tourism on local communities.
