The Rural Pact conference

A conference to engage participants in the EU long- term vision for stronger and prosperous rural areas.

The Rural Pact conference is organised by the Commission in partnership with the European Committee of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee, the European Parliament, the Presidency of the European Council and the European Rural Parliament.

The aim of this event is to create a framework for the cooperation among the national, regional and local governance levels, as well as stakeholders, the EU Institutions and interested parties to realise the EU vision of creating stronger, more resilient and connected rural areas in Europe.

The three main points that will be discussed during the conference are:

  1. Engagement of all levels of governance and rural stakeholders in endorsing the goal of the European vision for the future of rural areas
  2. Involving the participants in actively implementing this vision
  3. Increasing the visibility of European rural areas

TExTOUR will take part to the Rural Pact conference, presenting the project, its pilots, actions and future goals and expanding its network of collaboration with other EU projects in the field of sustainable tourism and rural areas. TExTOUR will present in Session 5.4: rural research and innovation ecosystems. The session is about social innovation, tourism and cultural and creative industries, start-up villages. The aim is to raise awareness on the concept of rural innovation ecosystems, to show inspirational examples and to foster discussion among the participants to identify concrete actions that stakeholders can take to support rural innovation ecosystems.
