4th European Wool Day: New Routes of Wool towards a Sustainable Future

Wool is a versatile and sustainable material. It can be used in textile but also construction industry, as well as in cosmetic production. The aim of the Europan Wool Day is to celebrate wool and to raise awareness on its properties and potential, highlighting the role of wool in building a sustainable economy.

Metsovo, Greece, will take part in the European celebration of wool with a series of events:

More events will run locally throughout the weekend, on the 6ht and 7th of April. Two photographic exhibitions, “Diava, Nomadic Pastoralism in Mountainous Northern Greece” by Dimitris Tossidis and “Travels in Metsovo” by Kostas Balafas will be open to the public.

A series of Fiber craft workshops will take place on Saturday the 6th in different part of Metsovo, and on Sunday the 7th there will be a roundtable discussion on “The new routes of wool towards a sustainable future” followed by a workshop on how to preserve woven and knitted textiles.

The event is organised by the EcoMuseum Zagori and the EGNATIA EPIRUS Foundation.
