The main topic of the meeting is empowering Smart Tourism: unlocking sustainable transformation.

Smart Tourism will be the main topic of the 11th meeting of the working group lead by EURADA.

The discussion will focus on facilitating connections between energy transition and preservation of cultural heritage. On that purpose the importance of ICT tools in fostering social innovation and cultural tourism development in lesser-known areas will be discussed with local authorities and stakeholders.   Kashyap Raiyani from UNINOVA will present the case of the the ICT platform developed for TExTOUR project.

The meeting will take the form of an interactive session, allowing for active participation and exchange of ideas among participants. The duration of the meeting will be 60 minutes.

Reinventing tourism facing Russian boycott: Narva on the edge

Bordering Russia, Narva is an Estonian city of some 50,000 inhabitants in the extreme northeast of the country. Lying halfway between Tallinn and Saint Petersburg, it historically relied on strong ties with Russia. Yet, since the annexation of Crimea and especially the invasion of Ukraine, Russians have snubbed it, thus dealing a severe blow to the city's economy. Recently stressed by a conference on cultural management, targeting Western visitors and increasing the attractiveness of its region are now the main priorities to revive Narva’s tourist sector.
